Why a cohort

Leadership is learned best in good company.

Most leadership training happens alone, in a book or behind a screen. The Atlanta Cohort puts you in a room with leaders working on the same things you are: communicating clearly, leading people well, and becoming someone others genuinely want to follow.

You'll learn alongside managers, business owners, nonprofit directors and public-sector leaders from across metro Atlanta. The conversations around the table are part of the curriculum, and the relationships you build tend to last well beyond the six months.

It is the same six-session curriculum as our 5 Voices Leader Academy for organizations, opened up so that anyone can join.

Why it matters

Leadership that ripples through every circle of your life

What you learn doesn't stay at the office. The self-awareness that makes you a better manager also makes you a better partner, parent, neighbor and friend.

Yourself

Know how you think, decide and react under pressure, and choose how you show up.

Your team

Communicate in a way each person can actually hear, and build trust that holds.

Your home

Bring the same patience and clarity to the people closest to you.

Your community

Lead well on the boards, causes and community groups you give your time to.

Who it's for

Come on your own, or bring your team

The cohort is built for anyone who leads people, or wants to. You don't need a leadership title to belong here. There are two ways to join.

Join as an individual

Invest in your own growth. You'll sit with leaders from other organizations, so you get fresh perspective on familiar challenges, and a network that stretches across metro Atlanta.

A good fit if you are

  • A new or aspiring manager
  • An experienced leader ready for your next step
  • A business owner or entrepreneur
  • Someone who leads through influence rather than title

Bring a team of up to 8

Learn together, apply it together. Your team shares a table, builds a common language for how each of you communicates, and takes it straight back to work between sessions.

A good fit if you

  • Lead a team that is growing or changing
  • Want better communication without a full consulting engagement
  • Are developing your next generation of leaders
  • Want your people to grow through it together

The six sessions

A six-month journey up the mountain

One three-hour session a month, January - June 2027, with practical application in between. Each session builds on the last: first you come to know yourself, then how you affect others, then how to help the people around you grow.

    Discovering Your Leadership Voice

Take the 5 Voices assessment and discover your foundational Voice: what you bring at your best, and how your natural tendencies shape the way you lead.

  2. Session 2

    The Power of Your Voice

See the positive and negative impact your Voice has on the people around you, and learn practical tools to communicate so others can truly hear you.

  3. Session 3

    Becoming a Leader Worth Following

Become the healthiest version of yourself, lead with consistency, and strengthen the presence that makes people want to follow you.

  4. Session 4

    Relational Dynamics

Build trust and influence by understanding the tendencies, triggers and patterns that shape your relationships at work and beyond.

  5. Session 5

    Optimizing Personal Performance

Define what high performance looks like for you, name your kryptonite, and build a practical plan to sustain it.

  6. Session 6

    Building Leaders Worth Following

Learn the mindset and tools to develop others, helping the people around you climb so that healthy leadership multiplies.

Studied in peer-reviewed research

A model rigorous enough to be researched

The Leader Academy model, built on GiANT's 5 Voices toolkit, has been the subject of published, peer-reviewed study. Researchers followed cohorts through the program and found that this kind of cohort-based leadership training can foster genuine self-awareness, the foundation everything else in the Academy is built on.

Questions & answers

Frequently asked questions

Can't find what you're looking for?

Ask us directly
Who is the Atlanta Cohort for?

Anyone who leads people, or wants to: new and aspiring managers, experienced leaders, business owners, nonprofit directors and public-sector leaders. You don't need a leadership title to benefit, and the cohort is intentionally a mix of industries and roles.

Do I need to come with a team?

No. Many participants join on their own and sit with leaders from other organizations. If you'd like to bring colleagues, teams of up to eight share a table and apply what they learn together between sessions.

When and where does it meet?

Once a month, January - June 2027, in person in metro Atlanta. Each session runs about three hours, with light refreshments. We're finalizing the venue now, and we'll confirm it along with exact session dates and times when you reserve your seat.

How is this different from the Leader Academy for organizations?

It's the same six-session curriculum. The 5 Voices Leader Academy is delivered privately inside a single organization. The Atlanta Cohort is open enrollment, so individuals and smaller teams can learn in a shared cohort with leaders from across the region.

What is the 5 Voices?

A framework from GiANT Worldwide describing five foundational ways people lead and communicate: Nurturer, Creative, Guardian, Connector and Pioneer. Understanding your own Voice, and the Voices of the people around you, is where the whole cohort begins. Learn more about the 5 Voices.

How often does a new cohort start?

Every six months. If the January - June 2027 cohort doesn't work for your schedule, reserve a seat anyway and choose "A later cohort", and we'll let you know as soon as the next one opens.

How do I reserve a seat?

Fill out the form on this page. It isn't a commitment: we'll follow up with session dates, investment details and next steps, and you decide from there.
